About Scholarship
This endowed scholarship was created thanks to the generous support of the Bowden family. It has been established to enable meritorious African women demonstrating financial need, to pursue a world-class MBA at INSEAD. The scholarship contributes to increasing the representation of Africans in the MBA Programme and upholding INSEAD’s hallmark of diversity and global perspective.
At the time that this scholarship was established, the world was facing significant tragedies and horrors in the Middle East, as well as the many ongoing conflicts and wars across the world. INSEAD was founded and continues to educate future leaders who are committed to leaning together towards difficulty, conflict, pain and suffering in order to enable positive change. We can each play a role in fostering compassionate communities, reaching across boundaries, practicing self-compassion, and seeking to understand the experiences of others, and leverage business as a force for good by connecting all people, regardless of their belief system. This is a process which can lead to great change – to the foregrounding of new values, ideas, perspectives, and emotions at the very core of our societies. The recipients of this scholarship should demonstrate that they are clearly committed to these principles, and the right of all people to exist, and support the School in its mission.
