We are looking for a full-time pre-doctoral student to work as a Research Associate on INSEAD’s France campus. This position is ideal for recent Master’s graduates looking to develop their research skills, with a view of applying to a PhD program. We are looking for someone who is good at managing data and in particular using software packages such as Stata, Python, and R. Ideally, they would also have experience working on a research project in the social sciences. The Research Associate core mission is to assist the school’s Strategy faculty in conducting research.
The position is for one year, with the possibility of renewal at the end of the first year upon evaluation. It is a full-time position.
TASKS:
Assist with quantitative research projects in the areas of strategy and management.
Extract data from conventional databases (e.g., CRSP, Compustat, etc.) or hand-collect and clean data from company documents for analysis.
Manage and clean data using software packages such as Stata, Python, and R. Proficiency in Stata is preferred.
Conduct statistical data analysis and assist with the interpretation, write-up, and dissemination of findings.
Help with reviews of prior literature.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Finance, Business Management, or Computer Science. Prior knowledge of economics is preferred.
Fluency in written and oral English.
Excellent programming skills that can be applied in software packages such as Stata, Python, or R. Proficiency in Stata is preferred.
Previous research experience and knowledge of econometrics are strong pluses.
Excellent academic record and work ethic are required.
Strong interest in conducting empirical research in management and economics.
Clear ambition to pursue a PhD in the future.
