Biography

Dr. Laszlo Avramov is an Adjunct Professor of Organizational Behavior at INSEAD. His specialism is leadership development through experiential learning, assessment, and profiling — with rigorous impact measurement to ensure transformation is implemented back at work. His research centres on identity, change, fulfillment, and longevity: how leaders become themselves, and how the fulfilled lives and strong relationships that most powerfully predict longevity can be deliberately developed.

A recipient of teaching awards for consistently top-rated programmes, he has taught, coached, and developed more than 50,000 leaders and professionals across 100+ nationalities over the past twelve years, serving as programme director for global corporates and government entities. Through the assessment and leadership development firm he founded fifteen years ago — now 150 consultants strong — he has personally assessed and profiled over 5,000 senior executives, combining psychometric and observational assessment with immersive experience design: boardroom simulations, decision cases, leadership labs, and his proprietary drawing-based dialogue methodology, described by participants as the learning experiences of a lifetime.

He has worked with organizations including PIF, ADQ, Emirates NBD, Emirates Group, EDGE, Philip Morris International, Accenture, KPMG, Merck, GlobalFoundries, ArcelorMittal, Dassault, Carrefour, and Ahold Delhaize — with a particular focus on the Middle East, where he keynotes (Family Office Summit, Abu Dhabi), coaches CEOs and full C-suite teams, and works with the region's leading real estate and development companies.

His current research extends to the psychology of AI — adoption, applied practice, and AI-powered assessment and profiling — and to the design of spaces for transformation: retreats, campuses, and destinations engineered psychologically, relationally, and physically for flow, fulfillment, and longevity.

He teaches and speaks on:

• Leadership Intelligence — and the identity work beneath it (Self, Team and Organizational Level)
• Leadership Communication — executive presence and moving an audience
• Power & Influence — reading and mobilizing stakeholders
• Decision Making — under pressure, in the room
• Transformation & Change — mindset, team, and organization
• Organizational Culture — diagnosing and reshaping how it really works
• Boardroom & C-Suite Team Dynamics — the unspoken forces at the top
• AI Adoption — through a psychological perspective

Before academia, he spent seven years in investment banking with Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, and ING. He holds a PhD in Education and a Master's in Education from the University of Cambridge, an MSc in Management (Diplôme de Grande École) from ESCP Business School, and the INSEAD Coaching Certificate. Based in Dubai, he has lived and worked in seven countries across three continents and speaks English, German, Hungarian, French, and Czech.
