About this Event

Leading more collaboratively is usually framed as letting go — flattening the structure, pushing decision-making rights to the frontline, and getting out of the way for teams to do their best work. Yet despite good intentions, research in many organisations show that decentralising efforts lose momentum over time.

Many organisations do not realise that distributing power is a discipline, one that takes deliberate intention, constant practice, and active maintenance against the pressures that pull authority back to the centre. In this webinar, Professor Michael Lee draws on years of field research to examine why well-intentioned empowerment so reliably erodes, unpack what people actually want from autonomy, and explore what leaders can do differently to make decentralisation last.
