Overview
Each year on 12 September, we commemorate the anniversary of INSEAD's first opening ceremony for MBA students in 1959. By celebrating this special occasion, the Global INSEAD Day captures the thrill and excitement that our alumni experienced when they first began their journey at INSEAD, channeling that energy into a global celebration across continents.
This year's theme, "Learn, Connect, Impact," highlights the ongoing journey of growth, the strength of our global connections, and the meaningful contributions our community makes around the world. A joint initiative between the INSEAD Alumni Association (IAA) and the school, Global INSEAD Day provides an opportunity for every alumnus/a, current student, staff, and faculty member to celebrate their INSEAD experience in unison, reflecting their personal journeys and shared memories.

GenAI with Sameer Hasija
Newspaper headlines are galore with the imminent threat of fundamentally changing the nature of work, businesses, and industries with GenAI. Business executives’ reactions to this trend range from denial (‘does not apply to my industry/market’) to incongruous (‘sounds too alien to be real’), to helplessness (‘I cannot make sense out of it’) or to euphoria (‘we will change the world with this technology’).
In our observation, such reactions may be stemming from confusion created by thinking of this technology using a broad stroke of “smart automation” rather than having a nuanced view of the contextually relevant attributes of GenAI that make it more effective in some settings over others.
This session will expose you to some evidence-based research that will be used to build a framework on how and when GenAI can play an instrumental role in shaping the future of work, business, and industries. While such a framework is still a work-in-progress, it will provide you with some guidelines that can be valuable as you consider GenAI's implications for your business.
