Biography
Dr. Wojtek Materka is an Adjunct Professor of Organisational Behaviour at INSEAD, where he received his MBA. There he focuses on experiential leadership development and serves on the faculty of open-enrolment and company-specific programs for high potentials and senior executives across INSEAD’s three campuses.
Wojtek is particularly interested in how people grow as leaders in an increasingly complex and uncertain world, where technology continues to disrupt and enhance traditional forms of human interaction. He is dedicated to helping develop productive and responsible leaders that can rise to the challenges of such a world. His background in leading digital startups, management consulting and academia gives him a unique set of experiences in his work with leaders.
After joining a fast-growing digital business in Central Europe in the early 2000s, Wojtek led teams in online financial services across different countries. This experience informed his doctoral research, which focused on how technology affects the development of trust in digital contexts and earned him his PhD from the Lodz Polytechnic in Poland. He then put his executive experience and research insights to work as an innovation consultant, working with global clients facing digital disruption.
Wojtek employs an approach to organisational change that combines the design principles of prototyping with systems psychodynamic theory to help clients work with the human pressures and choices involved in digital transformations.
