Satoshi was appointed EVP of Mitsubishi Corporation and CEO of its Mineral Resources Group, effective 1 April 2023. In his new role, he is accountable for all aspects of Mitsubishi's investment and trading activities in the global metals and mining sector, with total assets of USD 27 billion.
Satoshi joined Mitsubishi Corporation in 1991 and has held a variety of managerial roles in marketing, business development, and investment across a diverse range of mining commodities. Most recently, he was COO of the Mineral Resources Investment Division. Prior roles include general manager of iron ore investment and advisor to Mitsubishi's chief executive.
Satoshi earned a law degree from Keio University and an MBA from INSEAD. He is currently an ExCo member of the INSEAD Alumni Association and heads its Japanese chapter. Having grown up between Tokyo and Paris, he is trilingual in Japanese, French, and English.
