Additional Information
Robert has built two businesses from zero to market leadership and now helps boards govern AI as an asset, not just a risk.
He has served on for-profit and nonprofit boards for 25 years, chairing several, and was a director of an agentic AI company. He remains hands-on with AI, giving him a practical understanding of what the technology can—and cannot—do.
At Oliver Wyman, Robert launched a market practice from the ground up, grew it to tens of millions in revenue, and built one of the firm’s largest global client relationships. At BCG, he took over a nascent office as country CEO and, within three years, established relationships with 10 of the market’s top 20 companies. Across his operating roles, he has owned the P&L, led every major function, worked across a dozen countries, and overseen more than ten major M&A integrations, including a 10-country cross-border integration.
Robert founded the Board AI Institute and created the STAR Framework for AI governance, published on SSRN as the most downloaded work in its category. He also co-founded the 3,000-member INSEAD AI community, has led parts of INSEAD’s global alumni community for more than 15 years, and serves on the INSEAD Dean’s AI Advisory Group. He advises boards, CEOs, and founders—including Fortune 500 and PE-backed companies—across consumer, financial services, technology, energy, and media.
Robert holds an MBA from INSEAD and an engineering degree from Princeton. He is a NACD Certified Director and a member of the Society for Corporate Governance and the Private Directors Association.
