Mika Salmi is a serial entrepreneur and recognized innovator in the technology and media sectors.
Mika has extensive experience working in numerous countries building and leading companies, creating products, negotiating partnerships, financing businesses, executing M&A strategies, and serving on public and private company Board of Directors.
Currently, Mika is a Partner at Lakestar. He also serves on the Boards of INSEAD, Trace, Pixvana, CreativeLive, and Feed.fm and actively advises numerous startups.
Most recently Mika was Senior Advisor, Raine Group and CEO of CreativeLive, a real time video platform targeting the continuing education market. Prior to that, Mika founded MadRaces a location based mobile game company.
Previously he was President of Global Digital Media at Viacom home of MTV, Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures leading them through a time of transformation to digital platforms.
Mika was also the Founder/CEO of the pioneering video and games companies AtomFilms, Shockwave, and AddictingGames. These three brands were the largest and most influential online video and game brands in early day of the Internet.
His career started in music as a DJ and tastemaker, notably discovering and signing Grammy and Oscar winning artist Nine Inch Nails
Mika was born in Finland, is a US and Finnish citizen, speaks several languages and has an MBA from INSEAD.
