Luis was born and raised in Brazil, where he graduated with a degree in economics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais in 1988.
After a few years in Corporate and Investment banking with Citibank N.A. in Latin America, he attended INSEAD MBA programme in Fontainebleau, graduating in 1993. After INSEAD, he joined Capital Group, where he has worked ever since.
Luis has held a wide range of investment and leadership responsibilities over his 30-year career with the firm. Besides his investment role, he currently serves as Chair of Capital Group’s Luxembourg Funds and of its Swiss subsidiary.
Luis and his wife Angela have lived in Geneva (Switzerland) since 1994, where they raised their two sons.
Besides their long-term engagement in supporting INSEAD, Luis and Angela are committed to Geneva’s cultural institutions and to the cause of Human Rights.
