Founder, Captain Forest
I was born in the mid-eighties in Casablanca and mostly lived between Morocco and France. I studied geopolitics and management in France (Master in Finance in EDHEC and MBA in INSEAD) and worked in the banking industry for 6 years - trading room, consulting in strategy and innovation, and fintech. However, I was concerned with the environmental crisis and mass poverty phenomenon. So, I switched my career to focus on environmental and social issues. I first created and developed a media for 4 years, where I mainly produced a documentary about women in poverty in Morocco. Later, after leading projects funded by the European Commission to develop circular economy innovations and nature-based solutions, I created Captain Forest in 2022 to provide environmentalists a media platform to write about decolonial ecology - the focus is on four sectors: plastic, waste, agriculture, and forestry.
