Karim Khairallah joined Oaktree’s European Principal Fund at its inception in 2005 and has been a Managing Director since 2007. The Fund manages over $7 billion of assets in private equity and special situation investments and direct lending across Europe. Karim is currently a board member of Griffin Real Estate, Echo Investments (Chairman), ProService, Estoril Capital Partners and Healthcare Activos. Karim has also sat on the boards of Stock Spirits Group, Campofrio Food Group, Panrico and R&R Ice Cream prior to their successful exits.
Prior to joining Oaktree in 2005, Karim was a co-founder and Partner of Solidus Partners, a turnaround fund based in London and Paris. Before that, Karim spent four years at General Atlantic Partners. Prior experience includes J.P. Morgan Capital and Lehman Brothers International. Karim received a B.Sc. degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and received his M.B.A. from INSEAD in 1998.
