Biography
Dr. Jonathan Chang is a distinguished entrepreneur, educator, and policy advisor with a significant impact in Singapore and across Southeast Asia. He currently serves as the founding CEO of HeritageSG, a subsidiary of the National Heritage Board, where he leads innovative museum and heritage initiatives in Singapore .
Previously, Dr. Chang was the CEO of Fintopia Indonesia, the country's largest micro-lending digital platform, which has disbursed over $1.6 billion USD in unsecured loans to millions of borrowers, primarily serving the unbanked and underbanked populations .
His extensive career includes leadership roles at major organizations such as Shopify, where he was the Regional Head of Government Partnerships and Engagement, and Google, serving as the Country Head for Google for Education's Next Billion Users initiative in Indonesia.
Dr. Chang is deeply involved in entrepreneurship and social innovation. He has co-founded and advised several startups across the U.S. and Southeast Asia, with backing from prominent investors like Y Combinator and 500 Startups. His contributions to social enterprise have been recognized with the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) Case Writing Award for his research on an innovative social enterprise in Bali .
