Janet is the Chairman of SISTIC.com Pte Ltd and an Independent Director of the Board the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI). She was former independent director of the Board of SPH Holdings from 2014 to 2022.
She serves as Chairman of the Public Transport Council, the NUS-ISS and the Singapore Polytechnic Board of Governance. She is also the Deputy Chairman of the Singapore Business Federation Foundation as well as Member of the Board of The Esplanade Company Ltd, the Home Team Science & Technology Agency, the Tanoto Foundation and the Cenacle Mission (Singapore). She was former Chairman of Board Caritas Singapore from 2015 to 2018 and Chairman of Caritas Board of Trustees from 2019 to 2022.
Janet serves on the Council for Board Diversity and the Singapore Business Federation. She is a Senior Advisor of the RGE Group, Fellow of the Singapore Computer Society, Fellow of Singapore Institute of Directors and a Member of the International Women’s Forum (Singapore). She was a former member of NUS Alumni Advisory Board (2012-2022).
Janet is a Nominated MP of the Parliament of Singapore and Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to the Holy See.
She had a thirty-seven year career in the information technology industry and had lived and worked in Japan and China over a span of eleven years. She was Managing Director of IBM Singapore from 2001 to 2003 and again from 2011-2015. Janet was a member of the IBM Industry Academy. Her last executive role was as IBM Vice President, Industry Solutions, IBM Asia Pacific.
Ms Ang was awarded The Public Service Medal in 2019. She was also awarded the Singapore Computer Society IT Leaders Award – Hall of Fame in 2018, the NUS Distinguished Alumni Service Award in 2015, the NUS Business School Eminent Alumni Award in 2014 and most recently, the NUS Outstanding Service Award 2021.
Janet graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) from the National University of Singapore, and is an alumni of the INSEAD International Directors Program. She is married to Mr Anthony Cheah Kia Heng and they have four daughters.
