Managing Partner, Lion City Capital
Ian Potter is the Managing Partner of Lion City Capital, a private investment holding company focused on Commodity and Technology investments with an Impact bias. LCC manages portfolios of both liquid and illiquid assets and invests across the capital structure. In addition to more traditional asset classes, LCC actively invests in intellectual property and seeks and holds licenses to commercialise new technologies developed for first world markets and to deploy them to address emerging market issues. Ian is an INSEAD Distinguished Fellow with the Global Private Equity Institute in Singapore, where he focuses on Impact Investing and Commodities.
Prior to joining LCC in 2013, Ian was with Morgan Stanley in Singapore from 1994. At MS, he was the Managing Director and head of the Asian commodities business, with responsibility for the trading, sales and investment business in the region. He was also a member of the Asia Executive Committee, Franchise Committee and a member of several internal and external boards. In addition to working with MS in Singapore he has worked in finance in London, New York and Pakistan.
Among others, Ian's recent Board and Advisory positions include Morgan Stanley, 8x8, Inc, a NASDAQ listed cloud based communications firm; Swire Bulk, a privately held shipping company in Singapore; Bamboo Finance, a leading Impact Investing fund; as well as being a founding partner of Lion City Applied Science.
