Biography
Helen Wong is a Managing Partner at AC Ventures (ACV), an early-stage, Indonesia-focused venture capital fund. ACV manages five funds with an AUM of over US$500M and a portfolio of more than 100 startups. The firm has led investments into industry leaders, such as Xendit and Carsome which have reached billion dollar valuations.
Forbes ranked Helen among the Top “50 over 50” in Asia Pacific in 2024. She was also ranked among “Top 25 female Venture Capitalists” and “Top 100 investors”. Helen has 25 years of venture capital experience. Prior to joining AC Ventures, she started her VC career as part of the founding team at GGV Capital, and served as a Partner at Qiming Ventures.
Helen has a proven investment track record, having had 10 exits (7 IPOs and 3 M&As) among her portfolio companies. Some of her exits include Tudou and QuantaSing, which listed on NASDAQ, and Mobike (acquired by Meituan). She also led the investment in Akulaku, an Indonesia-based fintech company that has reached unicorn status.
She currently leads Climate & Sustainability investing at AC Ventures, and serves on the boards of startups in energy efficiency, waste management, sustainable agriculture, and mobility.
Helen graduated with a B.A. degree from Oxford University and a M.B.A. from INSEAD. She also has an E.M.B.A. degree from Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business in China. She is a Kauffman Fellow, and also participated in the China European International Business School (“CEIBS”) venture capital program.
