As Global Topic Leader for Total Societal Impact/Sustainability, I partner with my colleagues to help leaders in companies, investment/PE firms, governments, and social mission organizations create more societal impact, at scale, more quickly. Our experience is that companies and investors can find profitable new opportunities aligned to their core Purpose that also deliver higher societal and environmental value, meaningfully contribute to the SDGs and humanitarian outcomes, and be recognized by their stakeholders for doing so. Achieving this requires innovation in business models and ecosystems, new forms of collective action, and new partnerships at the intersection of the private, public, and social sectors.
During a decade away from BCG, I was the global COO for World Vision International, the world's largest field-based NGO. I was responsible for the performance of its field, technical, and support organizations encompassing 41,000 staff in over 80 countries. World Vision is a Christian humanitarian relief, development, advocacy, and microfinance organization striving for the sustainable well-being of 150 million of the world's most vulnerable children.
