Biography

HKU-100 Associate Professor of Data Science, Law and Philosophy at the University of Hong Kong, Boris Babic previously held tenure-track appointments as Assistant Professor of Statistics and Philosophy at the University of Toronto and Assistant Professor of Decision Sciences at INSEAD. 
He holds a JD from Harvard Law School and an MSc and PhD from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

His research and commentary have been published in Nature, Science, and Harvard Business Review, among other leading outlets. He also leads the AI and Humanity Lab at HKU and is a Fellow of both the Urban Systems Institute (HKU) and the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society (University of Toronto). He is also Associate Professor (by courtesy) at the University of Toronto and an occasional visiting professor of Decision Sciences at INSEAD.

Boris Babic is admitted to the State Bar of California and previously practiced law at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan in Los Angeles and Kirkland & Ellis in New York. His publications and further information are available at borisbabic.com.
