Family and Private Capital: Fostering Resilient Growth for the Long Term
Today’s business paradigm is evolving rapidly amid geopolitical shifts, global headwinds shaping supply chain and trade trends, and the transformative impact of AI technological advancement on decision-making and the workforce. Yet, family businesses and private capital owners are uniquely positioned to not only adapt to the market volatility but potentially thrive.
Families in business are anchored by their enduring values and legacy through their long-term perspective, and a steadfast commitment to positive societal and environmental impact. These enterprises are built for resilience and longevity across multiple generations.
Private capital owners, on the other hand, are typically engaged in long-term investments as well as for high returns. They manage actively the holdings for performance and value creation. Their role is crucial in funding startups, restructuring and supporting private firms, or financing infrastructure projects, by providing strategic guidance, industry expertise and valuable resources beyond just capital. They help families grow their portfolio, innovate, and navigate markets complexities by operating as active partners in their development and lasting success.
INSEAD through its Wendel International Centre for Family Enterprise is proud to host the inaugural INSEAD Family and Private Capital (IFPC) Summit on the theme Family and Private Capital: Fostering Resilient Growth for the Long Term on Tuesday, 28 October 2025 on Asia Campus, Singapore. This event is a prelude to Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) Conference organised by Enterprise Singapore (ESG). INSEAD is proud to partner with ESG under the overall umbrella theme of “Reimagining the Future of Enterprises” – of which the IFPC Summit forms a key element.
The Summit will explore how family business leaders and shareholders, owners can successfully navigate the challenging environment while charting the pathway for innovative growth and investment strategies designed to steward capital for long-term performance and generational success.
Bringing together academic faculty with families in business, and family offices, the Summit will delve into the evolving role of private capital in today’s economic and business landscape as we examine key questions on:
• When and why do business families partner with external private capital?
• How should business families select the right private capital partner?
• What contributes to the success and failures of such partnership?
• How should family offices reassess their investment strategies to drive portfolio growth and innovation?
• What is the structure and alignment with family offices and private capital agents?
This exclusive event is designed for leaders and members of business families, private capital owners and family offices who are looking to explore practical strategies that foster resilience and drive strategic renewal that enable family enterprises and private capital organisations to thrive.
Mark the date and join us for the IFPC Summit for a day of insight, inspiration, and connection.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the National Alumni Association Singapore for their invaluable support in the organisation of the Summit. This event is part of the kick off of the INSEAD Asia Campus 25th Anniversary Celebration.
