MBA Alumni Reunion Weekend - July 2017

Europe campus
Welcome

WELCOME

Dear Alumni,

As you have experienced for yourself, INSEAD is a truly unique institution.  We graduate inspired individuals equipped with sound business knowledge and international wisdom.  Through the vision laid out by our founders, we have truly become an independent and entrepreneurial business school with an unmatched global outreach and unparalleled diversity of students, executive participants and alumni.

This weekend, I look forward to sharing my plans with you and I want to hear your views.  Our Alumni Reunions team has worked hard and put together an incredible programme for you.  Besides the Plenary Session which will focus on the MBA programme and our Alumni network, our Faculty Forums will also cover important themes relevant to the business world of today.

Throughout the weekend’s Social and Networking events, your Reunion will provide you with the ideal opportunity to expand your horizons – a chance to, not only reconnect with your former classmates, but also to interact with Alumni of other classes that hold the same INSEAD spirit.

I look forward to sharing many conversations with you this special weekend and invite you to join me in imagining the incredible potential of INSEAD, with a powerful network of more than 53,000 Alumni in 170 countries united, as we create an ambitious future for INSEAD.

Perspective is Everything: The modern world from a finance perspective
Speaker: Kevin Kaiser

Is it a bad day, or a good day when you become aware that something you’ve believed to be true for a very long time isn’t true? The answer depends upon one’s perspective. Is it a bad day or a good day when a company or government defaults and gets shut down? Is it a bad day or a good day when a set of long-held beliefs disappears forever from human awareness. Is it a bad day or a good day when someone is fired/loses his/her job? Capitalist systems are creaking and groaning and receiving ongoing criticism for many failures. Does capitalism care about these criticisms? What is the finance perspective, and how would it respond to these questions and others?

Unbound together: Leading and living in the age of nomadic professionalism
Speaker: Gianpiero Petriglieri

It has become cliché to note that profound economic, cultural and technological change has shaken up the world of work over the last three decades—and that the pace of change is only accelerating. Some look upon those changes with optimism, remarking that they have liberated us. We are freer than ever to move around in order to pursue careers aligned with our true self and purpose. Others, rather more dourly, note than we all seem a bit lonelier and more confused in the globalized workplace. Living and leading authentically and with purpose, in short, has become more possible and yet more elusive than ever. In this interactive session, Professor Petriglieri will discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by the rise of nomadic professionalism—and how individuals and organizations need to rethink the practice and development of leadership to avoid its pitfalls and experience its benefits.

Giving back

Alumni gifts provide valuable support for the INSEAD Alumni Fund.

Your contribution is an investment in enhancing the value of your school.  Every gift is important and we are deeply grateful to our alumni who support the school to mark the anniversary of their graduation.

INSEAD is special and the support of our alumni across the globe enables us to truly be ‘the Business School for the World’.

To make your gift now – please click here

Class of MBA'92J - For our 25th Reunion Class Gift, the ‘92J promotion is coming together to honor our much-loved and missed friend and classmate Lynn Busteed.  We are working hand in hand to establish an Endowed Scholarship in her memory. For those of you who do not know yet, Lynn passed away tragically in 2016, leaving a loving husband and a very young son. Please come along with us in support of this special project to raise a minimum of €250,000 in cash gifts this year.
By reaching this goal and endowing our class gift we will ensure that the MBA’92J Lynn Busteed Endowed Scholarship can be awarded in perpetuity, supporting INSEAD to attract the most talented and deserving students from around the world and encouraging the diversity that sets INSEAD apart. Your generosity will honor our exceptional friend and classmate Lynn and support INSEAD today and in the future. Thank you for making your gift here. Lilia Jolibois, MBA’92J Reunion Fund Chair

Class of MBA'97J - 20th Reunion Class Gift, the ‘97J promotion is coming together to help the next generation of INSEAD students become the business leaders of tomorrow.
For this reunion, our committee would like to fondly remember our classmate, Julia Lawrence, by dedicating our class gift to an endowed MBA’97J scholarship in her name. Click here to view the flyer we have created on this special occasion. Please come along with us in support of this special project to raise €250,000 by August 31st , 2017.
Scholarships are a key priority for INSEAD. A robust scholarship programme is vital in building our school’s advantage when competing with peer schools for talent and our donations are critical to that success.
Please refer to this link to actually give. The good news is that in many countries your donation will be tax deductible! Laurence Laemmel ([email protected] - tel.: +33.1.60.72.93.21) can help you with any details you may need for the deduction.
We are hoping to see you at the Reunion Weekend and asking you to take part in our class scholarship drive. We are happy to answer any questions. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
Domnin de Kerdaniel and Katherine Philips-Kaiser, Co- Fund Chairs together with the Reunion and Fundraising committee: Nicolas Bontron, Antoine du Cluzel, Alexandre Manson, Carlo Moroni, Axel Reinaud, Nicolas Tcherdakoff, Jessica Uhl, Deyi Woo-Tcherdakoff, Matthew Wynde

Class of MBA'97D - For our 20th Reunion Class Gift, the ‘97D promotion is coming together to honour our classmates, Sarah Dodds, Charles Foster-Taylor and Friso van Oranje.  We would like to establish an Endowed Scholarship in their memory. Please come along with us in support of this special project to raise a €250,000 before our reunion in July so we can celebrate this achievement together.
By reaching this goal and endowing our class gift we will ensure that the Class of MBA’97D Endowed Scholarship can be awarded in perpetuity, supporting INSEAD to attract the most talented and deserving students from around the world and encouraging the diversity that sets INSEAD apart. Your generosity will honour our friends and classmates and support INSEAD today and in the future. Thank you for making your gift here.
If you have any questions on the scholarship, please feel free to email Caroline McLaughlin at [email protected] or Pier Paolo Raimondi at [email protected].
