INSEAD partners with ChangeNOW and BCG to reveal business biodiversity study

Keynote speakers Mark Carney, Inger Andersen join world-leading climate policymakers and sustainability researchers to offer solutions at event organised May 27-29, 2021 by INSEAD Hoffmann Global Institute for Business and Society

INSEAD, the business school for the world, is partnering with ChangeNOW and The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to support a study that aims to accelerate biodiversity integration into the strategies of large organisations. The study kicked off on 26 March, and the findings will be shared on 27 May in a special session at the annual ChangeNOW Summit.

The study aims to cover three areas of insights: where large organisations stand on integrating biodiversity into their operations and strategy, understanding the needs by sector and lastly, sharing innovations and best practices that meet the identified needs.

Focused largely on unpacking the visions of CEOs on biodiversity integration rather than conducting a technical assessment, the goal of the study is to provide targeted actions and feasible recommendations for businesses to incorporate biodiversity into their strategies.

Sharing his motivations behind this, Kevin Tayebaly (MBA 15J), Co-Founder of ChangeNOW said, “To help prevent the next big crisis - linked to the loss of biodiversity - our goal is to drive companies across the globe to adopt more ambitious and efficient biodiversity strategies. This study conducted by ChangeNOW and BCG and supported by INSEAD will be a first of its kind and an important contribution on this topic within the business community."

Held online on 27, 28 and 29th May 2021, the Summit is positioned to discuss ways of collaborative action for the planet.

As the official and major Academic Partner for the third year in a row, The INSEAD Hoffmann Global Institute for Business and Society will convene a distinguished group of speakers for a total of five sessions over three days, including two keynote addresses by Mark Carney, UN Special Envoy on Climate Action and Finance (27 May), and Inger Andersen, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme (28 May).

  • “Climate Budget Session” moderated by Executive Director of the INSEAD Gender Initiative, Vinika Rao, with a keynote address by Chad Frischmann, Coalition-builder and Systems Strategist for Project Drawdown, and a fireside chat with Ambroise Fayolle, Vice President of the European Investment Bank.
