Personal Leadership Development Programme with individual and group coaching
The INSEAD MBA programme requires a high level of engagement from our participants under the expert leadership of our professors. In fact, it is the vast diversity of experiences brought by our students to campus that makes the programme unique.
Experience an MBA Class at INSEAD
Immerse yourself in a rich learning environment and experience an MBA class on Managing Corporate Turnarounds with Professor Claudia Zeisberger, Senior Affiliate Professor of Decision Sciences and Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise.
Diverse study groups
You will initially join a study group of five to six students, selected to maximise diversity in terms of age, gender, nationality, experience, previous education and professional background. During most of the core courses, your group will become the focal point for your work as you complete assignments and solve problems together."
Lively classroom exchange
In the classroom, INSEAD professors aim to bring out the best in each of you, so that you learn from each other’s experiences as well as from their own cutting-edge research. Their objective is to examine different perspectives in order to orchestrate a multi-faceted debate and challenge everyone’s assumptions.
Multiple teaching methods
There is no single preferred teaching method at INSEAD. Our faculty is free to choose the method they believe fits best with the content of the session. You will, therefore, experience a wide variety of teaching styles and techniques, including case studies, computer simulations, role-plays, project work and study tours. What matters to INSEAD is not the method chosen but the result: the effectiveness of your learning experience.
Learning how to work effectively in diverse groups is a crucial part of the MBA programme. At INSEAD we take special care to craft groups that are diverse not only in terms of nationality, but also industry background and professional expertise. The aim is to ensure that each group member will bring a unique perspective and a diverse set of strengths and weaknesses to both learn from and contribute to the team.
Study groups consist of five to six members and are fixed for P1 and P2 of the programme. During these first four months, you will complete a total of about 50 group assignments, spread across 11 different subjects. Preparation time may vary from a few minutes to many hours or even days, and to facilitate easy interaction you will sit together during classes as well. Each group tends to have its own dynamics, driven by differences in temperament, teamwork and leadership styles. Of course, conflicts may arise, but courses such as Organisational Behaviour will give you tools to analyse different behavioural patterns and experiment with new and modified ways of influencing, motivating and negotiating with others.
Positive friction makes for great learning. For the first two periods of the programme, we were allocated to a small group of students with whom you worked closely on classroom projects and assignments.

Learning to lead across different cultures and geographies is critical to success in this global world. Our three fully-fledged campuses, in France, Singapore and Abu Dhabi, as well as our partnerships with Wharton and Kellogg in the US and CEIBS in China, offer you as many opportunities as possible to broaden your horizons.
You will be asked to choose a preferred starting campus when you apply to the programme. Please note that campus preference is not taken into account in the selection of candidates, which means that we consider an applicant's campus preference only after we have made a decision on whether or not to admit him or her. Also, in order to balance the class size and diversity across campuses, it is not possible to guarantee all selected candidates admission to their preferred campus.
PERIOD 1 (online Bidding)
Approximately 6 weeks after the programme starts, you will be asked to indicate your campus preferences for Period 3, 4 and 5. You can also bid for the Wharton, Kellogg or CEIBS (December class only) exchange during this time and indicate your interest to complete one module at our Abu Dhabi campus (July class only). You will be awarded a number of points that you will draw upon to bid for the INSEAD campus exchange, the US or China exchange as well as for the elective course bidding.
Period 3, 4 and 5
Students are required to spend the first two periods of their programme in their home (starting) campus. Therefore the campus exchange only starts from Period 3 onwards.
You will have the opportunity to spend at least one period at the other INSEAD campus; however, that period may not be your initial preference as there are certain capacity constraints for each campus.
The US exchange is only available for one period of study. For both classes this will coincide with Period 4, i.e. March/April for the July class and September/October for the December class. Due to the academic calendar, December class students will have some seats available at Wharton also in Period 5.

In September 2012, INSEAD became part of the Global Network for Advanced Management membership network, which allows our MBA graduates the opportunity to apply to Yale's 9-month Master of Advanced Management programme.
Those enrolled in the programme will spend an academic year on the Yale campus in New Haven, CT, following time spent in Fontainebleau and Singapore. Apart from increasing their geographical exposure, they will also customise their experience through a selection of electives offered across Yale University. The combination of a MAM degree from Yale and an INSEAD MBA will provide graduates with an added competitive advantage in terms of seeking recruitment all over the world.
Applicants will be evaluated based on performance in their MBA or equivalent Master's degree programme, recommendations, application essay and other criteria. All admitted MAM candidates are automatically considered for a merit-based scholarship.
If you have any questions related to our programmes or application procedures, we are here to help you.
