Book Chapter
Based on research and consulting experience in large multinationals, this chapter deals with corporate renewal. As innovation increasingly determines competitive advantage, the internal modes of operations, i.e. the "organisational capabilities" of large corporations have to change. To overcome self-generated bureaucratic sluggishness of their companies, top managers need to change their concept of structure, decision and effectiveness and engage in a process of organisational transformation. Successful processes link cognitive/intellectual and emotional "discovery" at individual level with collective "learning by doing" to achieve lasting "cultural" change.
