Q4 2024-2025 Activity Update

Here are the Hoffmann Institute’s key updates from Quarter 4 of the 2024/2025 Academic Year.

  • We were silver sponsors of the Brazil Climate Summit held in Paris with participation from INSEAD Professors Henrich Greve and Felipe Monteiro

The Brazil Climate Summit returned to the Maison de L’Amérique Latine in Paris, on the 26th of May. The event was presented by the Brazil Climate Institute, co-organised by INSEAD, with silver sponsorship from the Hoffmann Institute and Knowledge Partner BCG. With faculty participation from INSEAD Professors Henrich Greve and Felipe Monteiro, the event explored Brazil’s role as a catalyst for sustainable investment and innovation. With nearly 87% of Brazil's electricity sourced from renewables and vast potential in green commodities, the summit offered a strategic climate dialogue as Brazil and Europe align for the low-carbon transition on the road to COP30.

  • We sponsored day 4 and 5 of the 2-week Neuroeconomics Summer School, hosted at INSEAD.

The Neuroeconomics Summer School was hosted for the first time at INSEAD on our Europe campus. The 2025 edition explored the fast-evolving field of neuroeconomics with the participation of 30 advanced PhD and post-doctoral researchers from leading institutions around the world.

The programme combined daily lectures from global faculty with hands-on workshops, group projects, poster sessions, and a career roundtable — all designed to deepen participants’ mastery of research methods and interdisciplinary thinking. The summer school had participation from INSEAD’s Professors Hilke Plassmann and Ilian Mihov and days 4 and 5 were sponsored by the Hoffmann Institute.

  • We took part in a workshop organised by Andre Hoffmann convening Intent partner organisations to explore how to join forces and bridge expertise on sustainability.

InTent convened partner organisations (including the INSEAD Hoffmann Institute) to explore how to join forces and bridge expertise on sustainability. Kim Wilkinson, Associate Director of the Hoffmann Institute shared how INSEAD is activating multiple levers to transform business education and support its mission of business as a force for good. These ranged from: Redesigning its curriculum to embed sustainability; Leveraging partnerships with other leading European business schools such as Business Schools for Climate Leadership; Investing in developing cutting-edge digital and AI technologies. • We organized and delivered 4 panel sessions for our returning alumni focusing on sustainability

These sustainability focused panels included guest speakers, Lenka Kollar, co-founder of Helixos and Andi Benghea-Malaies (MBA’10J), President of the INSEAD Alumni Association Romania, while INSEAD Professor Loic Sadoulet moderated a panel session on Leading the Change: INSEAD Alumni Journeys in Sustainable Business, and finally Arnab Chatterjee MBA'10 moderated an interactive session entitled Sustainability on Trial: Confronting the Backlash and Breaking Through

  • We sponsored two student Summer Start Up Tour teams: 'WastePrint LATAM' and 'FinEthical'

Two teams comprising of MBA’25Ds were sponsored this summer:

'WastePrint LATAM' with Renzo Rossicallo and Francisco Marichi Garcilazo explored innovative waste management practices in Europe, with a particular focus on food and plastic waste management.
'FinEthical' with  Akbar Khalid and Ruchita Kachhap explored how fintech startups in London are integrating ESG principles—whether explicitly through mission and regulation, or indirectly through product design, inclusion, and impact.
