We hosted the 2023 Responsible Research in Business & Management Network Summit

Sponsored by INSEAD and Wharton, and hosted on our Europe Campus, this event aimed to advance responsible research. Researchers from universities and companies around the world got together to promote sustainability research initiatives.

We published two opinion papers by professors Pierre Chandon and Ilian Mihov

By focusing on an “epicurean” model, professor Pierre Chandon argues, the industry can take simple and inexpensive measures to encourage consumers to change their eating habits. Professor Ilian Mihov emphasizes the importance of creating frameworks, strategies, and reporting tools to accelerate efforts to address the impact of businesses on the environment and society.

We welcomed Hoffmann Distinguished Fellow Beatrice Weder di Mauro for a class on climate change delivered to our new cohort of MBA students

Professor Weder di Mauro’s talk focused on the science of climate change underscoring the urgency of the situation and the need for prompt action. Her talk shed light on the diverse impacts of climate change across regions and possible pathways for global solutions.

We co-organized the second webinar of the INSEAD Business Sustainability Series led by Professor Karel Cool

Focusing on trends, impact and opportunities on sustainability across regions, the webinar featured seasoned experts from Singapore, Africa and Brazil. More details on upcoming events as part of this series available here

We released three new episodes of our Mission to Change podcast on social entrepreneurs partnering with governments and corporations to scale impact

Listen to the stories shared by the Co-Founder of Bridges Outcomes Partnerships and INSEAD alumna Mila Lukic; INSEAD Professor Felipe Monteiro; Head of Innovation and Sustainability at Enel X Felipe Tentori; and INSEAD alumna Cynthia Rayner and social entrepreneur Jeroo Billimoria.

We celebrated our 5th anniversary by hosting INSEAD’s Business & Society Summit, and we published a 5-year report on our work and impact

With over 440 attendees, and the participation of 6 members of our faculty and 5 members of the Hoffmann Institute Advisory Board, the Summit reviewed progress and explored trends to further integrate sustainability in business. This was also an occasion to reflect on our first 5 years of work promoting sustainability across the school.

We contributed to the conversation with Le Club Les Echos Engagement Responsible on Sustainable Finance, and with the Tanglin Trust School in Singapore on Inclusive Organizations and Sustainable Growth

The Les Echos talk featured Daniel Biarneix, Deputy Financial Director of Saint-Gobain, Carol Sirou, President of Ethifinance, and Antoine Sire, Director of Corporate Engagement of BNP Paribas. Lucie Paulet MBA’23J also engaged in the debate.

We sponsored and participated in the 2023 UN PRME Global Forum and supported the recognition of best practices in reporting by PRME members

Since 2008, INSEAD has been actively supporting the PRME initiative and its efforts to promote responsible management education worldwide. Check out the Forum’s highlights and the awarded reporting institutions.

We continued our engagement with United Nations He for She

Our Asia Director, Vinika Rao, co-chaired the Allyship Committee of this initiative.

We partnered with TiE to host the South East Asia Women’s Global Pitch Competition for startup female founders

Culminating in an exciting event in our Asia campus, the competition’s winner was WeGrow Education, a start-up providing sex education for school children in Vietnam.

We participated in the first Business Schools for Climate Leadership conference, convening researchers and alumni from 8 schools to IESE’s campus in Barcelona

This event was an opportunity for practitioners and researchers to collaborate around our collective impact and ambition to combat climate change. Read the highlights here.

We celebrated over 8000 followers on LinkedIn and published five articles
