In light the growing COVID-19 crisis, [email protected] will not host students on the INSEAD Fontainebleau campus this summer. In place of our residential programme, we are pleased to announce the launch of STARTUP – a 5-day virtual entrepreneurship bootcamp tailored for talented and curious high school students of 15-18 years of age.
Aimed to inspire and empower young talents to develop a deeper appreciation and understanding of the exciting world of founders, the programme features 4 daily hours of live lectures by INSEAD faculty, talks by distinguished INSEAD alumni entrepreneurs, interactive learning experience through simulation, teamwork and mentoring. To further enrich the programme, participants will also be given extra individual and team assignments to complete outside the scheduled programme hours.
The content of STARTUP by [email protected] is complementary to our in-person [email protected] programme, which we hope will resume in 2022. in Startup we focus on new venture creation and entrepreneurship over five days. in [email protected] we look at business awareness in general over two weeks. Age-permitting it is absolutely fine to attend both programmes. In fact, STARTUP by [email protected] is good preparation for the in-person [email protected]
Online Academic Enrichment
STARTUP by [email protected] provides in-depth and interactive exploration of the world of entrepreneurship and a step-by step approach for aspiring young entrepreneurs looking to convert ideas into up-and-running, revenue-generating business.
It draws on a live simulation and lectures by INSEAD faculty, experiences of guest-speakers and a final group project – complete with a pitch to a panel of judges made of real investors and entrepreneurs. By the end, students will have a good understanding of an entrepreneurship journey from ideating to designing a compelling business model and recruiting a team.
A Rich and Interactive Learning Experience.
Each class is limited to a maximum of 45 students to ensure a rich and interactive learning experience.
Daily classroom instruction features carefully selected advanced content adapted to a high school audience as well as a live simulation originally designed for the STARTUP programme.
A Real-Time Online Instruction
Students meet for four hours each day (Monday–Friday) for live classroom discussion with INSEAD faculty, INSEAD alumni entrepreneurs, mentors and peers. Students can choose to attend the morning (9:00AM to 1:00PM CET) OR afternoon (2:00PM to 6:00PM CET). Note that students cannot switch from morning to afternoon session or vice versa.
Similar to what you would experience at [email protected], students can expect an intensive, rich, interactive workload of assignments - to complete outside the scheduled programme hours. Coursework includes assigned readings, individual and teamwork, and more.
Active Student Engagement
Active participation is key to creating an online community of engaged learners, and students are expected to participate in class and engage with their peers, faculty. mentors and guest speakers. Note that attendance to all live classes is compulsory and students will be excluded from the programme would they fail to attend a session.

The STARTUP by [email protected] program is a testament to how well INSEAD has adapted to the COVID-19 Pandemic. This online learning experience taught me the process of turning an idea into a product backed by a concrete business plan. It also captured my Entrepreneurial spirit and cultivated a strong business mindset.
I cannot put into words how much I enjoyed STARTUP. The dedication of the professors, organizers and mentors was incredible. And participants were charismatic and outstanding. This course was a milestone in my learning journey towards higher education. I was also impressed by the cohesive force of the INSEAD community and I hope to return to INSEAD as a mentor in the future.
[email protected] has opened up my eyes to a range of possibilities. A lot of my family members are in business. I always thought it was so complicated. This really set some roots to how Entrepreneurship works. It simplified it to an area of study where you can really understand it and feel comfortable going into that field.
[email protected] was exciting. Now I know you can create a business that changes the lives of people. I always thought that starting a business, creating a corporate venture, was something you did just to make money. After [email protected] I realised that is not the case. You create a business to make a difference.
[email protected] really gives you an anchoring position to be able to use the skills that you learned and to apply them to different areas of life. We also talked a lot about leadership. The skills that you learn in leadership are not only applicable to business. [email protected] gives you a holistic way to approach a bunch of different things. Not just the ability to start a business, but many other things as well.
