Only books and DVDs can be checked out. Other R&L Hub items must be used in the Hub or accessed online, where available.

How to check out books and DVDs
-
Research & Learning Hub materials can be checked out either at the General Information Desk or using the self-check machine. A valid INSEAD badge must be presented. Special assistance with loans (overdues, reservations, etc.) is only available when R&L Hub staff is present. A security alarm sounds if a user takes unchecked materials out of the R&L Hub, as a reminder that documents have not been properly checked out. Users are responsible for all materials checked out under their name and are liable to be billed if the books are lost.
Users on the Abu Dhabi Campus must use the self-service checkout system. Ask a Specialist for help.

Research & Learning Hub materials may be renewed as long as they have not been requested by another user. To renew, log in to your account in the catalogue using the number at the back of your INSEAD badge (as both the login and password) or check with R&L Hub staff at the information desk.

Reservations
-
Research & Learning Hub materials may be reserved if they are currently on loan to another user. Requesting users will be notified by email when the item is available for pick up. To reserve, log in to your account in the catalogue using the number at the back of your INSEAD badge (as both the login and password) or see the staff at the information desk.

Overdue books
-
Although there are no fines for overdue books, the user's borrowing privileges will be blocked until all overdue materials are returned. Overdue notices are sent at the due date. Any book overdue for 2 months is considered lost (four days for short loans).

What happens if you lose a book
-
Users will be charged for replacement of lost materials, and an invoice is sent to the individual who fails to return the book. The amount invoiced is based on the book's price, except when the book is out of print. In this case, the amount is three times the book's price. Invoices can be paid by cheque or cash.

For books not in our collection, the Hubs welcome your suggestions. Use this form to request a book.
Please note that eBooks are preferred, when available, and can be accessed within 24h of ordering.
Print books arrive on average within two weeks of ordering, as long as they are not out of print, in which case we may be able to get a copy through the Inter Library Loan service.

Request a book at home (for EMBA & EMC)

If you urgently need a book and are not residing in Fontainebleau or Singapore, we can deliver it to you.
The book will be delivered by courier service and must be returned the next time you are on the Asia or Europe campus or earlier at your own cost.
Please note that books from the Abu Dhabi campus R&L Hub cannot be shipped.

Request database access for executive participants

Executive participants can access electronic resources on campus, as well as in the Research & Learning Hub, for the duration of the programme on campus.
For modular programmes, if participants do not have an INSEAD network account and if the Programme Director believes it necessary to have access off-campus between modules, a group password can be set up. It will allow access to most of the electronic resources and will expire at the end of the programme.

Research & Learning Hub access

Alumni are welcome to use our Research & learning Hubs and the facilities free of charge.
R&L Hub access is granted to alumni themselves and does not extend to any representatives.
A wealth of information is available in a variety of formats. Print resources include faculty publications, business bestsellers and career books. Selected online resources such as journals, company financials, and industry and economic data can be accessed from one of several computers available in our Research & Learning Hubs. Photocopiers and printers are available, on request.
Asia Campus - Tanoto Research & Learning Hub

Book loans

As part of IAA membership, alumni are entitled to borrow 5 books at a time for a period of 1 month (no renewals).
This service is free other than shipping charges when returning books, which are borne by the requestor. Please note that alumni are responsible for their loans and must reimburse any lost, damaged or overdue books.
Requests can be made by contacting Doriot R&L Hub or Tanoto R&L Hub and specifying delivery and book details. The R&L Hub Catalogue gives the necessary information on the more than 45 000 books in the Europe and Asia Campus collections, covering all aspects of business and management, as well as related disciplines.
Please note that this service is not available for the Abu Dhabi Campus R&L Hub.

Libraries are welcome to use our Interlibrary Loan Service.
- Books are available for a loan period of 1 month and are charged 10€ per book (+5€ for postage + tax).
