Business Schools for Climate Leadership shares important new insights in tackling climate crisis

Europe’s leading business schools are together launching a second series of webinars that will give business leaders across the world knowledge and guidance to help stop climate change.

Business Schools for Climate Leadership (BS4CL) launched at COP26 last year and is a unique partnership between eight of Europe’s leading business schools to help present and future leaders combat the climate crisis.

The new series of four webinars looks ahead to COP27 in November and brings together a host of business influencers, experienced practitioners, and academic leaders.

The series includes how Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is changing Europe’s energy transition plans, innovators and entrepreneurs hold the key to Net Zero and business can turn new legal and regulatory frameworks to combat climate change into opportunities.

Commenting on the ongoing work of BS4CL, Katell Le Goulven, the Executive Director of the INSEAD Hoffmann Global Institute for Business and Society, who has been heavily involved in the collaboration, said, "Since COP 26 and the launch of our partnership, the geopolitical complexity of the climate emergency has grown along with alarming scientific evidence of its negative impacts. Our schools are bringing leading academics and practitioners together in a new series of conversations to help our community decode the new context and accelerate the adoption of climate solutions. Join us and engage!"

Peter Tufano, Former Dean and current Peter Moores Professor of Finance at Oxford Saïd Business School, said, ‘In the few months since we launched this unique partnership, between eight of Europe’s leading business schools, the world has changed and with it the challenges in solving the ever-evolving climate crisis. Giving business leaders the most up to date knowledge and skills is crucial, for education and learning must be the bedrock upon which we will tackle the greatest challenge of our lifetime. With a truly impressive cast of leaders and thinkers in this space, and sharp, insightful, contemporary content, I urge anyone in business serious about being part of the climate solution to tune in and listen."

BS4CL was launched in October 2021, coinciding with COP26. Since then, it has been providing insights and assistance to businesses, through its unique toolkit and webinar series. The toolkit has provided leaders with the materials to assess their readiness to act and tackle climate change, while the first series of webinars helped businesses understand how environmental pledges and targets can be met and made. This second series aims to further accelerate action and identify business needs ahead of COP27.

In the spirit of collaboration, the eight business schools, remain as Cambridge Judge Business School, HEC Paris, IE Business School, IESE Business School, the International Institute for Management Development, INSEAD, London Business School, and Saïd Business School (University of Oxford), are sharing the hosting across four webinars.  Every episode will find the answers to overcome various aspects of the climate emergency:

HEC Paris and IESE Business School

  • Climate and Entrepreneurship – 8 June

Climate Startups: Innovating our path to a Net Zero economy
