New Directions in Leadership Research
About the NDLR
The New Directions in Leadership Research Conference is a small, annual research conference sponsored by Duke University, Erasmus University, INSEAD, the University of Virginia and the University of Michigan. Each year the conference convenes established and emerging scholars in the field of leadership, aiming to foster a conversation between researchers using different lenses and methods to study various aspects leadership, including its context and consequences. The conference also endeavours to expand and strengthen the field of leadership studies by hosting scholars whose research does not focus directly on leadership but has potential connections or implications for it. The location of the conference rotates among the partner universities, and the 2024 event will be hosted by INSEAD.
This year's conference will take place Saturday June 1st and Sunday June 2nd, 2024 (registration will open at 8:00 am on June 1st, and the conference will adjourn at 4.30pm on June 2nd).

General Information
INSEAD is located in Fontainebleau, France, 65 km south of Paris. The modern, purpose-built campus is surrounded on three sides by the forest of Fontainebleau yet it is within ten minutes' walk of the town centre, where you will find plenty of restaurants, bars and shops and where English is widely understood.

Facilities
INSEAD's on-campus facilities include 20 amphitheatres and conference rooms and 130 special group work areas. Over 900 individual workstations and our extensive library resources enable easy access to the school network at any time from anywhere on campus. You can connect to INSEAD's wireless internet (Wifi) network for free from anywhere on campus.
Contacting you while you are on campus
During the event there will be permanent telephone coverage. One of our hostesses will be available to provide information, assistance and take messages whilst you are with us. The official contact number is +33 (0)1 60 72 40 00 and will be operational throughout the event. Please switch off your mobile phones during the plenary and panel sessions.
Support
A dedicated team of receptionists will be on hand to help you during your stay. Should you need any information or bookings for restaurants, taxis or hotels, kindly check with them.
Security
You will need to wear a badge while on campus. You will be provided with a name badge at registration. Please do not leave any valuables lying around in the amphitheatres, meeting rooms or elsewhere on the campus.
Food
If you have any special dietary requirements, please indicate these to the NDLR Conference Coordinator as soon as possible so that we have time to cater adequately to your needs throughout the event.
Dress code
There is an informal atmosphere at INSEAD and dress is usually casual/business casual. The dress code for the Leadership Conference is casual/business casual.
Photography and filming
INSEAD often brings professional photographers on campus to take photos for major events. During your stay, you might be taken in one or several photos that could be used in promotional material. We hope that you will agree to this usage. If not, please let us know.
Electrical equipment
Should you bring any electrical equipment (hairdryer, shaver etc.), please bring an adaptor with you (Continental European two-pin plug, 220 vosts).
Campus shop
The campus shop "Footnote" sells a wide variety of business books, international newspapers and magazines, electrical adaptors, stationery, basic toiletries, postcards, maps and souvenirs. It is open from 9.00am to 6.45pm Monday to Thursday and from 9.00am to 5.45pm on Friday. www.foot-note.net
Library
The library, located in the CII building, is open 24/7. You will find books, magazines, newspapers, working papers, INSEAD cases, DVDs and databases, all related to business and management topics. www.insead.edu/library
