Erin Gainer’s career spans roles as a drug developer, chief executive, board member and philanthropist. She was CEO of HRA Pharma for 7 years, and over her tenure the company’s revenues more than tripled and profits increased 10-fold. She initially joined HRA to lead its global R&D program focused on innovative products that respond to unmet medical needs in the fields of reproductive health and rare endocrine diseases, and is the is the author/inventor of dozens of peer-reviewed publications and patents. Today she wears multiple hats: she has been Chair of the Board of HRA Pharma since 2016 and joined the Board of Biom’Up as independent director in 2017 in the context of the company’s IPO on Euronext. She advises on life sciences and pharmaceuticals via her consulting company, Eirberry. Her interest in philanthropy started over twenty years ago with her time as a Peace Corps volunteer and recently culminated in the creation of the ella fund, a venture philanthropy fund devoted to backing social entrepreneurs working to empower women throughout the world through education, health and entrepreneurship. She completed her Executive MBA from INSEAD in 2008 (GEMBA ’08).
