Biography
FUL Foods is foodtech company developing highly resource-efficient and climate-resilient nutrition through a proprietary biorefinery process. The company has scaled up a process that uses CO2 recycled from other industrial waste streams as the main feedstock to produce high quality proteins, fatty acids and functional ingredients from microalgae. The company's microalgae nutrition production process captures 2x its weight in CO2 – a rate of converting CO2 into nutrients and oxygen 200x more efficient than that of trees. The company was founded by three INSEAD alumni – Sara Guaglio, Cristina Prat and Julia Streuli (all 19Ds) who developed the idea for the startup while completing their MBAs and went on to win the INSEAD Venture Competition before officially incorporating FUL Foods after graduating in 2020. Since starting the company, the founders have filed three patents, won numerous awards and gained visibility through the World Economic Forum and Fast Company as a "World Changing Idea", as well as launched their first product, a functional drink in the US and Europe.
