John's mission is to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy by developing and operationalizing high growth opportunities. He works with institutional investors to shape and implement energy transition investment strategies, and helps entrepreneurial companies gain market traction for innovative products and services.
John combines a 25 year career as a Founder/CEO and private equity investor with expertise in climate change and clean technologies. As a Partner with a global sustainability consulting firm, he advises clients on green investment opportunities and decarbonization strategies. As CEO & Founder of two technology companies, John has built and led high performance teams to identify opportunities, and develop new markets and products. As a private equity investor, he opened new markets, sourced and screened opportunities, and analyzed, structured and negotiated investments.
John holds an MBA from INSEAD, a law degree from Oxford University, and a BA in political economy from Queen's University. He was raised in Vancouver and has lived and worked in Europe, Los Angeles, Mexico City and Toronto. John currently lives in New York close to his three young adult children.
