Frédéric Mazzella MBA’07D is Founder and President of BlaBlaCar and Captain Cause.
BlaBlaCar is the world’s #1 company in carpooling, with 27 million active members in 21 countries. Captain Cause is a new platform that disrupts corporate commitment towards impactful social and environmental projects.
Frédéric is Co-President Entrepreneur of France Digitale, the largest association of startups in Europe. He is also host of the weekly show “Les Pionniers” on BFM Business channel. Every week, he welcomes pioneers from multiple fields as explorers, artists, entrepreneurs and athletes.
Frédéric holds a master’s degree in physics from the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS Ulm), a master’s degree in computer science from Stanford University, USA, and an MBA from INSEAD. Before founding BlaBlaCar, he was a research scientist for NASA in the USA and NTT in Japan. Frédéric is also a pianist and music lover.
He is the author of “Mission BlaBlaCar – Les coulisses de la création d’un phénomène” (Eyrolles, 2022), a book in which he shares his entrepreneurial journey to build a unicorn from scratch, through friendly conversations and structured methods.
