We proudly present INSEAD’s Sustainability Report for the academic year 2020-21. This document details how our school fulfils its commitment to integrate sustainability into business education, and our social, economic, and environmental impacts under the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards – the world’s most renowned framework in the topic. For the first time, this Report also aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the principles and pillars of action of the UN Academic Impact (UNAI) and UN Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiatives to which INSEAD has had a continuous commitment in the past years.
In such a challenging academic year, the INSEAD community demonstrated to be up to the challenge of transforming societies and economies that remain resilient in the face of new risks and opportunities. Our Sustainability Report features how our faculty are increasingly focusing on responsible management aligned with global goals, how our students are engaged in creating new models of growth and want to understand business as a sustainability solution, how we liaise with alumni and partners to increase the reach and positive impact of our activities, and how we implement responsible HR and operational practices across our locations.
Readers of this report will learn about how the sustainability journey at INSEAD started shortly after the school was founded in 1968. The report presents the Hoffmann Global Institute for Business and Society which is notably responsible for all of INSEAD’s sustainability reporting. Our reporting is structured according to a 4 pillar framework covering the sustainability related Knowledge production of our faculty, updates on new sustainability Learning opportunities for students and participants, how INSEAD Engages with business partners and the global community to increase the reach and positive impact of our activities, and finally how INSEAD is Walking the Talk and is committed to integrating sustainability in our operations, reduce our carbon footprint, and take part in an annual third party evaluation by Ecovadis to inform our leadership and stakeholders of our progress.
The report also shines a spotlight on a select number of sustainability champions such as faculty who have reinforced our commitment to act on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in our community, or members of our alumni community that lead by example in making business a force for good, and by doing so, extend INSEAD’s real world impact far beyond the classroom.
We invite all our faculty, staff, students and stakeholders, all our participants and partners, to explore and share this report, and see how each one of us can align with INSEAD in taking action towards a more sustainable future together.
