Education is a useful tool because it introduces you to a new network, it gives you confidence, it gives you insights—everything you need to reinvent yourself comes with education.

I’ve always had a drive for empowering others to achieve their potential and that’s very much behind my desire to transition from a technical role to a more managerial profile.

Networking, volunteering, and getting involved in women development initiatives is so important in identifying and addressing the diverse issues that diverse people face.

Leaders have a responsibility to determine the best way forward and to model the kinds of values, strengths and possibilities that inspire others to follow suit, even in adversity. And that’s who I am, as a woman and as a leader.

We are so much more dynamic as individuals when we come together and blend our different ways of learning, thinking, creating, diagnosing and solving problems: that’s where we deliver real value – to our clients, to our industries and above all, to ourselves.

The feelings of inclusivity engendered by the programme, the group support, the coaching and the degree of personal customisation the experience offered, were truly transformative. I felt sharing my own leadership story with my peers, and getting fresh eyes on my personal challenges, beliefs, as well as hearing perspectives on problems from other women from different backgrounds facing similar issues was a really powerful way to gain confidence in myself and my own journey.

The programme challenges you to think hard about yourself and really explore the depths of personal insecurities as well as strengths. It's an intensely emotional week. There’s also this unique dynamic when you bring 40 different women together. You create a safe space in which to open yourself up to the learning.
