Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour

"It's hard to capture the atmosphere of the INSEAD MBA classroom in writing - it has to be experienced. It is like a large orchestra of highly talented, well-trained and keenly sensitive musicians from all over the world. As a professor, it is hard enough to know the score. You also need to be able to lead a collective learning process - to turn that kaleidoscope of tunes into a compelling, meaningful, harmonious whole. There is no going through the motions. When I walk into class I know I will be stretched, inspired and surprised by MBAs' insights, experience, and exchanges."
Gianpiero's areas of interest include leadership, team dynamics, experiential learning, and unconscious processes in individuals, groups and organisations. For the INSEAD MBA, he teaches "Leading People and Groups" and also consults to a range of international organisations on the design and implementation of programmes for developing high potentials into effective and responsible leaders. Prior to joining INSEAD, he was Visiting Professor at Copenhagen Business School, where he received the MBA Professor of the Year award, and contributed regularly to the MBA at IMD. Gianpiero received a Medical Doctorate with a specialisation in Psychiatry from the University of Catania Medical School, Italy, and a diploma in Advanced Organisational Consultation from the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations in London.
