The skepticism vanished and I thought, only at INSEAD can I find someone in the classroom with such a background.
"I was talking about Treasury auctions in the Prices & Markets class - how governments design auctions for government securities and how banks bid on them. I was explaining how governments construct demand and supply curves to find the market-clearing price. Some students were skeptical whether this theory of demand and supply maps so perfectly to reality. At that point, one participant said that he had worked for the Bank of England, and that this was exactly how the Bank of England operated in auctioning off government securities. The skepticism vanished and I thought, only at INSEAD can I find someone in the classroom with such a background."
