Application Process: Your Journey Starts Here

All elements of your application will be thoroughly reviewed by the Admissions Team. The selection process will take up to eight weeks from the date of completed application submission.

Application Deadline

We operate on a rolling admissions process with six rounds, however, the online application form will remain opened between the deadlines allowing applicants to submit an application at any time. The earlier you apply, the earlier you will get a final decision. Your application must be complete, including your two recommendation letters, by the deadline of the round you are applying for.

Round 1 1 October 2023
Round 2 1 December 2023
Round 3 1 February 2024
Round 4 1 April 2024
Round 5 1 June 2024
Final Round 15 July 2024

To apply to the programme, you must submit an application form online and the required supporting documentation listed in the Executive Master in Finance (EMFin) application checklist below. After you submit the online application, you will receive a summary of your application and your application status will be visible on the Dashboard of the online application centre.

Online Application

The entire application process is done via our online application system. You are able to work on different sections of the application separately. Please make sure to save all your data before logging off so you can return to work on it at a later stage.

The online application comprises:

Dashboard and Photograph

Once you have successfully registered, you will access the Dashboard of the online application system. You can edit your login details and set your alert notifications. You are also required to upload a photograph of yourself. To optimise the image, your photo should be 99 pixels wide and 128 pixels high. The photograph should be in JPEG or GIF format.

Pages 2-10: Profile

Profile information is hard facts, similar to a detailed resume. You can save a PDF copy of these pages at any time by clicking on the printer icon on the top of your screen. Note that not all fields are mandatory, so if one does not apply to you, leave it blank.

Supporting Documentation

The supporting documents must be included in your application and received before or on the day of the application deadline. Your application will not be evaluated until all of the items in the link below have been received, in addition to the online elements listed above. Please attach your supporting documents via the online application system.

The following supporting documents must be included in your application:

Page 09: Letters of Recommendation

Two professional recommendation letters are required, providing information about your demonstrated leadership and management potential. As such, at least one recommendation should come from your workplace; your current supervisor or manager is usually a good choice. The other recommendation may be from someone who has had a chance to evaluate you in a professional setting, for example, a client, a former supervisor or a colleague from your community service or extracurricular activities. The recommendation letter templates are sent to your referees directly through links in the application form.

Page 10: Job Description & Motivation

This is a critical part of our evaluation process. As such, we advise you to spend a significant amount of time on your application essays. Your responses to the essay questions provide the best opportunity to be creative and tell us about yourself. We would like to get to know you and to find out what motivates you. The essays are not meant to be academic articles or business memos, but rather your personal stories. You can download the essay questions as a PDF document. Once completed, please upload the document on Page 10 of Application Online.

Application fee

A fee of EUR250 must be paid online by credit card once you have submitted your application form. Please note that this application fee is non-refundable and that your application will not be evaluated until the fee has been received.

English Language Certification

We accept the PTE/TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS and Cambridge Proficiency Exams. With the TOEFL, please arrange to have ETS send your test scores directly to INSEAD, code 0970. For PTE Academic, the code for INSEAD is 22W-R2-00.

If you possess a full university degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) where all courses were taught in English, we will accept your degree as proof of your fluency in English. Your transcripts should clearly indicate that the curriculum was entirely taught in English.

GMAT, GMAT Focus, GRE, GMAC® Executive Assessment (EA), INSEAD Assessment or CFA Level 1

If you are taking the EA please select INSEAD upon registration. Please upload the EA unofficial report upon completion of the test as a supporting document with your application. You will receive your official result at the test center and our admissions team will be able to access the same within 24 hours.

What Are Your Assessment Options?

emfin

The INSEAD Executive Master in Finance is designed to prepare the next generation of leaders that will drive the finance industry into the future. Applicants must either take the GMAT, GMAT Focus, GRE, GMAC Executive Assessment (EA), INSEAD Assessment or CFA Level 1 - all of which provide a uniform and standardised way of evaluating a candidate's aptitude to cope with the intensity and breadth of the programme. You may wish to consider taking the EA test which requires less preparation at approximately 15-20 hours of preparation compared to 2-3 months as one would expect to prepare for the regular GMAT. More information on the EA can be found here: https://www.gmac.com/executive-assessment/about-ea.aspx
