You can apply with either of these tests: GMAT, GRE or GMAC® Executive Assessment (EA), INSEAD Assessment or CFA Level 1. Find out more about the assessment options here.
We welcome applicants with an average 4 to 12 years of experience in a finance-related role. Applicants with less experience who demonstrate strong quantitative skills and exceptional maturity through their professional and personal experiences may also be considered.

What Are Your Assessment Options?
The INSEAD Executive Master in Finance is designed to prepare the next generation of leaders that will drive the finance industry into the future. Applicants must either take the GMAT, GRE, GMAC Executive Assessment (EA), INSEAD Assessment or CFA Level 1 - all of which provide a uniform and standardised way of evaluating a candidate's aptitude to cope with the intensity and breadth of the programme. You may wish to consider taking the EA test which requires less preparation at approximately 15-20 hours of preparation compared to 2-3 months as one would expect to prepare for the regular GMAT. More information on the EA can be found here: https://www.gmac.com/executive-assessment/about-ea.aspx
Find out more about the difference between the assessment options.
A strong GMAT or GRE score helps us assess your ability to succeed in the programme.
Like many other adaptive tests, both tests require rigorous preparation in the weeks leading up to the exam date. With the right approach and proper planning, however, acing them is well within reach.
Practice the tests on our online simulators to assess your level.
If you have any questions related to our programmes or application procedures, we are here to help you.
How many years of work experience do I need to have to be eligible to apply?
Since this is a post-experience master’s programme we prefer applicants with at least seven to ten years of experience in a finance-related role. Applicants with less experience who demonstrate strong quantitative skills and exceptional maturity through their professional and personal experience may also be considered.
Can you waive the EA / GMAT / GRE? Is there a minimum score I need to have?
Since this is a rigorous academic programme, the EA/GMAT/GRE is a mandatory admissions requirement and cannot be waived. While we do not have a minimum score needed to apply, we encourage applicants to aim for a score in the 80th percentile (160) or better in the GRE, 70th percentile in the GMAT, and at 12 or above for the EA test, to be competitive with the other applicants. Since this is a finance programme, more weight is given to the quantitative section of the tests.
Do I need to send hard copies of my transcripts?
The application process is entirely online, and you will be able to upload soft copies of your transcripts and degrees. Once you have been offered a place on the programme, we will ask you to send us hard copies of your certified transcripts and degrees.
When will I know the final decision on my application?
Once your file is complete, the Admissions Committee will review the application and will take a decision. You will be advised of the final decision by an email within 3 weeks of the admissions deadline.
Can I get feedback on my profile before I apply?
Yes, we are open to reviewing CVs from potential candidates and giving feedback on their profiles. To submit your CV or ask specific questions, please contact us.
Can I postpone my application submission to the next round?
If you choose to delay submission of your application until the following round of the same intake, your application form details will be saved automatically. Note that access to your form will be temporarily disabled from 00:00am (Central European Time) on the day of the deadline, as the system will shutdown for about four days. Access to your form will resume once the temporary shutdown period ends, so you can continue editing it.
Please bear in mind that if you miss all four rounds of a particular intake, your application form and its entire contents will expire. At this point, you will be required to complete a new application from scratch, for the next intake.
What are the test options for GMAT/GRE/EA/TOEFL
Can I Apply Without a GMAT, GRE, EA, or TOEFL?
For INSEAD Master Programmes, if you submit your application without a test, it will remain incomplete and will not be reviewed until we receive your test results.
