Full-time – Permanent contract – Based in Fontainebleau, France

INSEAD is currently recruiting a Director of Total Rewards and HR Shared Services. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer this is a key member of the INSEAD HR Leadership Team. This permanent and full-time role covers our staff and faculty in our Europe, Asia, and Middle East Campuses as well as our new Hub in San Francisco. This role will be primarily based at our main campus in Fontainebleau, France.

The Director of Total Rewards & HR Shared Services provides leadership and expertise to the organisation in the design, development and administration of Total Rewards (compensation, benefits, pensions and recognition programs) in order to support the attraction and retention of talent (both Staff and Faculty). He/she will also lead the HR Shared Services function within INSEAD to lead the operations team globally and bring our HR administration into the 21st century.

Reporting to INSEAD’s Chief People Officer, we are seeking an experienced professional that will be able to:

  • Define and activate a total rewards strategy that drives business performance, and desired (leadership) behaviour at a competitive employment cost and consistent with labour market trends and organizational objectives
  • Understand the basis for employee motivation and engagement by creating total rewards and Performance Management propositions that drive business value creation
  • Provide subject matter expertise and accurately interpret, counsel, communicate, and educate the Exco, Exco members, HR Business Partners and leaders on total reward topics
  • Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations related to compensation and benefits programs
  • Establish and lead a technology-driven HR shared services function with in-sourced and outsourced services
  • Lead the implementation and management of a new HRIS system
  • Lead organisational change within the global HR operarations and payroll teams

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 10+ years of Human Resources experience, with fully operational skill levels in all aspects of the total reward function and leadership of a HR shared services team within a blue chip international organisation
  • A career path between HRBP (member of a management team) and HR expertise center is a plus
  • A global network of thought leaders in his/her expertise areas
  • Experience of working with HRIS and preferably of building a HRIS environment in his/her areas of expertise
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Ability to deploy technology to improve customer experience in the process in his/her expertise areas

He/she will furthermore possess:

  • Proven experience interacting with senior business leaders
  • Fluency in French and English both verbally and written
  • Ability to travel to our other locations in Singapore, Abu Dhabi and San Francisco
  • Demonstrated project management skills with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence without formal authority at all levels
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-cultural and diverse environment
