We are excited to launch the position of Director of Marketing and Communications to join our Advancement team on a permanent and full-time basis. The Advancement team is responsible for mobilizing resources—our teams, our partners across the school, our relationships with external stakeholders—to shape, amplify, and advance INSEAD’s mission and aspirations. The location will be at our Europe campus in Fontainebleau (France) although frequent travel will be a part of the job to alumni and campaign events globally.

The Director of Marketing and Communications will work closely with the Associate Dean, Advancement leadership team and Dean of INSEAD to ensure best-practice communications and engagement with our global alumni network. Keeping our alumni informed and enthusiastic is critical to the success of fundraising and donor participation across all levels of giving. As a direct result of our strong communication efforts over the Force for Good campaign, our donor and gift numbers have increased significantly, and the new Director will be expected to support our continued improvement.

The Director also oversees the development and implementation of philanthropic marketing, branding, strategy and outreach efforts that supports our advancement efforts. This includes but is not limited to the oversight of all print, digital, and social media marketing channels to donor-facing audiences as well as leading our digital marketing efforts. The Director maintains close and collaborative working relationships with frontline fundraisers, Advancement team leaders, board members, Campaign Director, faculty, donors, and Institutional Communications.

Key Responsibilities of this role will include:

· Being a dynamic communications leader with a passion for strategizing, creating and executing impactful branding and communications for mission-driven organizations.

· Bringing expert knowledge and application of traditional, digital and emerging media along with demonstrated success in building strong team cultures.

· Working closely with the Advancement Leadership Team to determine departmental communications needs, recommending how best to meet them, executing strategies, and meeting defined goals in a timely manner.

· Managing advancement communications and marketing efforts for individual projects from strategic planning through execution and distribution, including print publications, web, email, electronic newsletters, and multimedia communications.

· Delivering on the campaign closing campaign communications strategy and develop a strategy to take the force for good branding forward.

· Working closely with the Dean, Associate Dean, leadership, Institutional Communications and external stakeholders to develop the school’s vision to align with fundraising. This may include speech-writing and other bespoke content creation.

· Individually contributing to the development of content for a full range of advancement communication materials, including print, web, social, power point slides and email solicitations, gift proposals, case statements, newsletters, and talking points. This includes editing and writing.

· Supervising the Digital Marketing (2) and Communications (4) teams, including performance management, professional development and day-to-day team management.

· Having a thorough understanding of the Eloqua tool to support the Digital Marketing team in streamlining our marketing efforts.

· Leading production timelines and creative development with internal and external content generators and freelance designers to meet aggressive deadlines while ensuring quality and impact.

· Overseeing department budgets.

The ideal candidate should have the following profile:

· Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in education and experience; advanced coursework in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field a plus.

· At least 10 years of relevant experience in creating and managing digital content; experience in a creative marketing agency setting or higher education preferred.

· At least 5 years supervisory/management experience required.

· Ability to use analytics to inform decisions; strong research and electronic communications skills, including interpretation of data and trends.

· Creative and strategic thought process with the drive to work independently as well as a track record of collaboration, innovation, and optimism.

· Superb written and oral communication skills, including editing and presentation skills in English.

· Excellent organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills.

· Demonstrated attention to detail and talent to handle multiple and varied tasks independently, while also working collaboratively.

· Proven capability to handle multiple competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines in a timely manner.

· The ability to make an impact as a member of a team and diverse community and in a complex, fast-paced and team-oriented environment.

· Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

· Experience with digital marketing strategies and analytics as well as email marketing tools such as Eloqua and/or SalesCloud.

· Must be willing to travel.
