Daniel is a Research Associate at INSEAD, assisting faculty with projects in the multidisciplinary Technology and Operations Management field. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics (Summa Cum Laude) from Singapore Management University.
As an avid learner, Daniel constantly seeks to upgrade his skillset by taking professional courses in machine learning, data analytics and other disciplines related to Economics and the social sciences. His passion for data-driven policy work and empirical research led him to embark on the MITx MicroMasters in Data, Economics, and Development Policy. Daniel also actively sought opportunities to apply his new skills during his internship at the Department of Statistics, research assistantships and independent research experiences.
Prior to his current position, Daniel assisted faculty at SMU with inflation forecasting, designing field experiments, and cleaning and analysing data. In his senior year, Daniel performed an independent study on forecasting Singapore’s GDP using a large, mixed frequency dataset. He desires to pursue a career in academia and aims to deliver research that has a lasting, positive impact on society.
In his spare time, Daniel pursues his love for music in areas such as songwriting, music production and singing. He also enjoys teaching and mentoring, previously working as a teaching assistant and part-time tutor while in college.
