Application Process


When you click on the Apply button on the website you will be connected to our e-portal where you will be able to create an account (or sign in if you already have an account) and easily submit your application. Once submitted, you will receive an email with the next steps on how to start the programme.

The programme is on-demand, all applications are accepted.

Absolutely, and we actually encourage participants to attend in teams in order to maximise the learning and impact. We also offer a special reduction fee for groups of executives attending from the same organisation, so please feel free to contact us for more details. 

On-demand Programmes


On-demand means the programme is open all year round with no specific session dates. The learning content is available to participants from the start and there is no specific end date (completion within 6 months). Therefore, participants can set a learning pace that suits them best

Participants will have access to the programme content for 6 months during which completion of all learning modules is necessary in order to receive a Certificate of Completion.

Programme Specific


Negotiation Fundamentals is an introduction to the full negotiation learning path offered by INSEAD Executive Education.

The programme is most suitable for:

  • Professionals who want to master the fundamentals of negotiations and build a strong foundation, to complement further studies on the subject
  • Executives who want to increase emotional intelligence, decision-making, and leadership skills 
  • Leaders looking to enhance personal collaboration, assertiveness, persuasion, empathy, as well as their ability to get things done with and through other people
  • Participants who wish to complete an official Certificate in Negotiation with INSEAD.
  • Particularly suitable for those working in sales or procurement, individuals or teams dealing with high value deals, including financial transactions, partnerships or government.

INSEAD Online programmes are not eligible for continuing education or professional development unit. 


Learning Experience


The programme will take approximately 6 to 7 hours to complete, on average. You will have the option to complete more role-plays if you wish to do so, which would increase the programme length by up to 2 hours. The full programme could be completed in one day or across a longer period, therefore participants can set a learning pace that suits them.


No. The programme is fully online and contains a mix of learning content including videos, quizzes and assignments.




Yes, this is the first programme in the certificate track. Upon successful completion participants should go on to complete the second programme, Strategic Negotiations.

INSEAD Online Programmes can be accessed on desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones. 
Currently supported browsers (usually based on support of latest two browser versions) are:

Firefox: version 26+
E: version 10+

The application uses modern web development approaches (HTML 5) so that it can function responsively across desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones without the need of players or add-ons like adobe flash player. 

Yes. At the moment we do not support offline access of content so you will need to have access to the Internet whenever you want to access the programme content.


Yes. The entire content of the programme is available to you up to 6 months from the beginning of the programme.
