Tell us about yourself and your career so far.

I'm a Finance Director at Infineon Technologies and have recently moved from Singapore to North America to take a global finance lead role for the Intelligent Power Modules Business Line. Prior to this, I had the opportunity to work with other organisations in several countries such as Mexico, Canada, USA and Singapore on different senior finance roles. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, two Master's Degrees and now an INSEAD Alumnus through the Certificate in Global Management.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO DO THE INSEAD CERTIFICATE IN GLOBAL MANAGEMENT?

I chose INSEAD because of its strong global mindset.

The first programme I attended was the International Management in Asia Pacific (formerly known as Building the Business in Asia Pacific). While in the programme, I have learned that there is an option to obtain the certificate and this gave me an excellent opportunity to continue learning and invest on my professional development under the banner of a top business school. Interestingly, halfway through my certificate completion, my company was acquired by Infineon Technologies. The Global CFO and other executives received their MBA from INSEAD which made the Certificate in Global Management and the network it comes with, more valuable than ever.

The three other programmes I attended were: Negotiation Dynamics, Leading for Results and Competitive Strategy.

My choice of programmes had a significant impact on my professional toolkit and personal growth. I wanted to have a mix of skills that can support my professional development and likewise provide value to my organisation. The professors were not only very knowledgeable experts on their field, but they were able to adjust and deliver the content in a digestible manner through real life examples/experiences which enriched the learning significantly. Through this combination of programmes, particularly when I was based in Singapore, I gained a broader perspective and knowledge on how to approach challenges to create more value for my organisation.
