INSEAD Summer Ball
Saturday 20 May 2017
10.30pm - 4.00am

The Château de Fontainebleau holds special meaning for INSEAD. It was here, in a wing of this 12th century Château that INSEAD was born half a century ago. Due to this link with the Château, the INSEAD Royal Ball will be held in the magnificent rooms that are not normally open to the general public.

The INSEAD Summer Ball is one of the oldest INSEAD traditions. Held annually on the last weekend of May, it is timed to coincide with the Alumni Reunion Weekend for the 5 & 10 years. Expect DJs and performances and music to suit all tastes. The Summer Ball is a unique event for all members of the wider INSEAD community: alumni, current students, staff, faculty, friends and families.

Do join us for the following events, held over the same weekend at INSEAD Europe Campus:

19 May 2017 - INSEAD Private Equity Conference Europe, Navigating Macro Headwinds in the Pursuit of Growth

The INSEAD Private Equity Club (IPEC) is run by MBA students and serves as a forum for those interested in all aspects of the private equity industry. With over 1,000 INSEAD alumni working in private equity firms worldwide, IPEC’s goal is to support INSEAD’s thought leadership, participation and recognition in the field.
IPEC's flagship events are its annual conferences held in both France and Singapore. Now in its 15th year, the conference in Fontainebleau has grown to be the largest private equity event hosted by an academic institution in Europe.

19-21 May 2017 - INSEAD Alumni Reunion Weekend

MBA classes of '12J&D and '07J&D will reconnect with their former classmates. Join us for a weekend of Social & Networking events, faculty lectures and updates on the school.

As the darkness descends, and the stars shine bright, come and be welcomed at the main gates of the Château de Fontainebleau.

A world of mystery beckons at the Cour d’Honneur where you will see the famous horseshoe-shaped staircase dating back to the reign of Louis XIII. This was where Napoleon stepped down from when he bade final farewell to his Old Guard and went into exile in 1814.

Be royally looked after in the Galerie des Cerfs, a majestic room decorated in Henry IV’s time with bird’s eye view pictures of the royal châteaux and their hunting grounds. Since the 1960s, it has housed great antique sculptures from the Vatican, cast by Primaticcio for Francis I in Italy.

Be amazed as you relax at the Salle des Colonnes, a beautiful room which was created as the royal guests' waiting room for the wedding of the son of King Louis Philippe. Its rich, golden interior blends statuesque twin columns, mirrors and elements of Renaissance style. This room will be your serene chill-out lounge.

Dance the night away at the Cour Ovale where a special marquee will be mounted and transformed into a vibrating discotheque.

A magical evening awaits you!

A sumptuous, lovely Parisian-catered stand-up dinner (new concept: a mixture of cocktail & buffet formats) prepared by famous chefs will be served in these beautiful rooms.

Q: Can I bring along my children?

A: Only if they’re over 18! For security reasons, children under the age of 18 are not authorized to attend the Summer Ball. This specific night is overcrowded and definitely too noisy for young kids.
This is the reason why The Summer Ball Committee and the INSEAD Security Department decided few years ago not to accept any children to this particular event as it is not a suitable place for them.
We can provide you with a list of babysitters, please contact us if you wish to receive a copy of this list. Any arrangements are to be made directly with the babysitter. Parents and babysitters must deal directly with each other for all questions of scheduling, availability and payment.
