Alumni Volunteers Meeting

INSEAD Europe Campus

Welcome

Dear Volunteers and Friends of INSEAD,

We are very pleased to invite you to attend the hybrid Alumni Volunteer Meeting (AVM) from Friday 19 to Saturday 20 November 2021, taking place on the INSEAD Europe campus in Fontainebleau, and via dial-in for those unable to travel. We are very excited for our first in-person AVM in two years and are looking forward to seeing a great turnout of presidents, representatives and ambassadors from the NAAs, NACs, Global Clubs and the IAF, as well as guest speakers, staff and the IAA Executive Committee.

We encourage you to arrive in Fontainebleau on Thursday evening, 18 November, as the AVM will start on Friday morning at 9:00 am with the IAA presenting the topic pillars that will formulate our next 3-year strategy. This will be followed by breakout rooms to discuss these topics with individual IAA VPs, an update from INSEAD’s leadership team, a faculty session and plenty of networking time. On Friday evening we will be hosting a dinner to thank you for the time and energy you dedicate to your volunteering.

On Saturday, along with the General Assembly and best practices sessions, we will have a team-building exercise that promises to be a lot of fun!  That will be followed by a fair for MIM’22Ds and MBA’21Ds to convey the value of the alumni network and benefits of NAA membership to current students. As you know, this initiative has a big impact on membership figures, and we would therefore be very grateful if you could please stay for the full length of the programme and participate in the fair. On Saturday evening we will have dinner and dancing at Le Cercle on campus, so time to let our hair down and socialise informally!

We have a slightly shorter weekend programme for the IAF with a start at midday on Friday. We are looking forward to very interactive sessions including best practice sharing, training on “How to make the ask” and an update on INSEAD Fund results.

Partners are welcome to join the dinners taking place on Friday and Saturday evenings – please note that daytime activities are reserved for volunteers.

In the meantime, we encourage you to book your hotel room now. All bookings need to be made before 1 November. Please book one of the allocated rooms at the INSEAD Hotel Ermitage quoting this code: CS181. Payment can be made in advance with all major credit cards.

We very much look forward to the AVM and to connecting with the incredible team of volunteers that make the INSEAD alumni network so strong and vibrant.

Warm regards,

Programmes

Thomery – guided tour with Giulia at Rosa Bonheur’s museum

Closed for several years, they have recently re-opened the doors of the restored and redesigned workshop. The privileged visitor will enter the universe of the artist, from her workshop to her "cabinet de travail".

Everything is there…

Her embroidered blouse, hat, boots, palettes, brushes, colors, sketchbooks or notes, right down to her cigarette butts. The scent of turpentine mixes with the artist's violet fragrance ... No need to reconstitute, you just have to let yourself be carried away!

Moret-sur-Loing - Guided tour of the village

Our guide Giulia will take you round this small medieval town of around 4,500 inhabitants whose origins seem to date back to the Gallo-Roman era.

We will discover the interesting remains (12th century gates and keep, the gothic Church, the fortifications on the Loing side) and some beautiful landscapes that have inspired many impressionist painters as Alfred Sisley and John Russel.
