We published two Crossroads Opinion Papers on energy transition and resilient healthcare supply chains.

Continuing our Crossroads: Business & Society series on INSEAD Knowledge, we featured articles by Atalay Atasu and Prashant Yadav discussing hurdles to accelerating the renewable energy transition, and global disparities in access to vaccines and healthcare supply chains.

We convened faculty and practitioners at the SDG Tent in Davos to discuss responsible business education, the path to Net Zero and family-owned businesses as forces for good.

The conversations at the SDG Tent, in partnership with InTent, highlighted what it takes to achieve Net Zero and how family businesses can be forces for good. We brought research on workplace gender inequity to the ChangeNOW Summit in Paris.

We hosted the “Gender and the Future of Work” Forum with the INSEAD Gender Initiative and Cartier Women's Initiative in May, where we presented new academic research led by Zoe Kinias. We also moderated a panel during the “Women for Change” session sponsored by HeForShe and UN Women, which reflected on the potential of women entrepreneurs to drive change in societies around the world. We completed Season 2 of our Mission to Change podcast, with a focus on biodiversity.

We rounded off Season 2 of our Mission to Change podcast by speaking with Magali Anderson, Chief Sustainability and Innovation Officer at Holcim, about her use of internal activism to transform the cement industry and the wider built environment. Listen to the episode here!

We co-hosted the fourth annual Responsible Research Summit with Wharton Business School.

The summit brought together leaders from top business schools, including INSEAD, the United Nations and financial and academic media, to discuss how principled research can deliver value to both business and society. INSEAD Dean, Ilian Mihov, spoke on the power of research to build a bridge between science and practice. Read more here.

We launched a second series of webinars with Business Schools for Climate Leadership.

The webinars held under the banner of Business Schools for Climate Leadership, a partnership between eight of Europe’s leading business schools, featured insights from faculty and practitioners including INSEAD alumnae Goulnara Aguiar, GEMBA’19. Topics included how Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is changing Europe’s energy transition plans, why innovators and entrepreneurs hold the key to Net Zero and how business can turn legal and regulatory frameworks to combat climate change into opportunities. We celebrated the 90^th birthday and extensive academic career of Professor Bob Ayres.

Organised by the Technology and Operations Management Group and sponsored by the INSEAD R&D Committee, the “Bob@90 Conference” was held in recognition of the INSEAD Technology Management and Economics Professor’s outstanding contributions in the field of industrial ecology over the past half-century. We welcomed support from Axis Capital on behalf of former AXIS Chair of the Board, Michael Butt. Thank you for your contribution.

And we continued to support students in their sustainability journeys through the INSEAD Summer Start-up Tour, and the Hoffmann Institute Impact Internship Stipend.

This marks the fourth year of collaboration with the ‘SSUP! giving student teams the opportunity to explore the global startup ecosystem with an impact and sustainability perspective, and to walk-the-talk with their own impact projects. This year, we are supporting two teams of students exploring the EdTech ecosystem in Europe and the Middle East.

The INSEAD Hoffmann Institute Impact Internship Stipend programme is this year providing financial support for eight INSEAD MBA students who are pursuing summer internships in the public, not‐for‐profit sectors, for-profit impact ventures, and impact investment firms with a clearly defined social or environmental purpose.
