Accessibility

INSEAD is committed to making its Europe campus in Fontainebleau accessible to all. To this end the school has appointed a disability advisor to guide and supervise the process. The school is also registered with the RHF (Ressources Handicap Formation) programme of Agefiph to benefit from support in individual situations, but also to help us in our steps towards universal accessibility.

We are also developing our accessibility as far as possible with the adaptation of our course materials and teaching aids. Course materials can be printed if necessary.

We offer most of our courses in a distance learning format to limit fatigue and travel and to allow access to many more people with visual or hearing impairments, a disabling health condition or an invisible disability.

Our pedagogy is active and we are constantly thinking about how to improve it with a maximum of practice (learning by doing) and also by integrating playful, visual and dynamic tools rather than theory that is less easy to integrate.

A Bit of History

Fontainebleau, the Home of INSEAD's Europe Campus

Fontainebleau, the home of INSEAD's Europe Campus, is spread across eight hectares. Nestled in the vast forest of Fontainebleau, the modern architecture of the campus blends harmoniously with the green and leafy surroundings. Facilities are of the highest standard and include 29 lecture theatres, two restaurants, a bar, a bookshop, extensive library resources and a fully equipped gym.

The first buildings of Europe Campus were designed by Bernard de la Tour d'Auvergne and hailed as Europe's most advanced educational building.

The first students entered INSEAD's new premises in the autumn of 1967 and the official inauguration of the new buildings took place on 23rd May 1969 in the presence of André Bettencourt, Minister for Industry, Jean Marcou and Philippe Dennis, Director General.

In 1979 the Residences and Restaurant designed by Guy Calderon were opened. The idea was to multiply the opportunities for interaction and reinforce the principles of cross-cultural exchange and group learning which had made the reputation of the INSEAD experience.

In 1980, INSEAD established the Euro-Asia Centre to strengthen ties with Asia and the Pacific Rim and to create and disseminate knowledge about business in Asia.

The Plessis Mornay building was inaugurated on 2 July 2004. This project which was started in 1995 was part of a renovation and extension plan, increasing the size of the campus in Fontainebleau by 25%. The new complex of 8500m2, is primarily dedicated to Executive Education.
