INSEAD starts academic year by introducing a new governance structure and executive programmes

Abu Dhabi, Fontainebleau (France) and Singapore, 15 September 2011 – INSEAD, the leading international business school, today announced it has introduced a new governance structure and several new executive programmes that will take effect as INSEAD’s September 2011 MBA intake begins. A total of 1,006 students are enrolled in INSEAD’s two MBA intakes in 2011-2012 across the school’s Asia Campus in Singapore and Europe Campus in Fontainebleau, France.

Dipak C. Jain, INSEAD’s current Dean who officially began his role in March 2011, starts his first full academic year at the school with the support of three Deputy Deans. Peter Zemsky, Deputy Dean of Degree Programmes and Curriculum; Ilian Mihov, Deputy Dean of Faculty, Research and PhD; and Miklos Sarvary, Deputy Dean of Executive Development Programmes, will all report to Dean Jain.

‘The start of the new academic year marks a very exciting time for INSEAD,’ said Dipak C. Jain, Dean of INSEAD. ‘In a constantly evolving global marketplace, INSEAD is uniquely positioned to offer a truly global and diverse learning experience for all of our participants.’

Dean Jain added: ‘I look forward to working closely with Deputy Deans Mihov, Sarvary and Zemsky to deliver world-class research and innovative initiatives across our MBA, EMBA, PhD and Executive Education programmes.’

The introduction of the Deputy Dean role will streamline governance procedures and reinforce the leadership team at INSEAD. In their expanded roles, Mihov, Sarvary and Zemsky will work directly with Dean Jain to implement policies, participate in academic planning and drive top-quality research and teaching.

INSEAD has added intakes for its Global EMBA (GEMBA) and Advanced Management Programme (AMP) on the school’s Asia campus in Singapore. The new programmes complement INSEAD’s existing Executive Education portfolio and provide enhanced offerings for executives in Asia. The school also plans to expand its executive education portfolio for the Asian market with the addition of an Executive Masters in Clinical Approaches to Management which will be offered later in the 2011-2012 academic year.
