    Click the E icon at the bottom of the screen.

Case studies, including INSEAD cases and mini-cases

  • INSEAD research collection – Complete collection of INSEAD cases at the Doriot Library.
    Search for cases in the library catalogue. Located on the 1st mezzanine.

    Access for faculty only. Registration and authorization required.

    Use the company entity index and select the document type "Case study" or "case studies" in the subject index.

News

  • Factiva – Most complete source for news worldwide, including FT, WSJ and Economist and non-English sources.
    Use the source index to select the title or type of source, such as business wires and press releases.
  • Business Source Complete – For news from trade magazines as well as articles from practitioner/academic journals.
    Use the company entity index for precision. Use the cover story limit to focus on a feature article.
  • Bloomberg – For real-time news.
    Ticker symbol + <EQUITY> + CN (for advanced news search: TNI)
  • ISI Emerging Markets – For emerging markets. Includes non-English sources.
    Use the news tab to browse and the search tab for keyword searching.
  • Company web sites – For news emanating from the companies themselves.
    Check the investors section of the company's web site.

Ownership and subsidiaries

  • Capital IQ – Best interface. Includes private companies.
    See Corporate Tree, Investors and Investment tabs. Requires a personal password.
  • ORBIS - For filtering subsidiaries by level of control. Includes private companies.

  • ORBIS – The only source for searching sub-national regions. Includes private companies.
    Default search screen or Expert search screen (click on menu).

Group comparisons

  • Capital IQ – Best interface. Includes private companies. Requires a personal password.
    Choose a company, then click on Quick comps.
    For company sets, choose a Project, then Screening > Comps.
  • Thomson Analytics – Best for customizing the peer group.
    Choose a company, then Company analysis > Comparables > Peer sets
    Choose a list of companies, then Comparables.
    In Excel, under "Comps wizard" choose a base company then peer group
  • ORBIS – Best source for including private companies in group comparison.
    Choose a company: "Peer report" or the P icon at the bottom of the screen;
